Mercury Music Prize

Mercury Prize (колишня назва — Mercury Music Prize) — це щорічна музична премія, що присуджується за найкращий альбом, випущений музичним виконавцем чи гуртом з Великої Британії або Ірландії. Вона була створена Джоном Вебстером і Робертом Чендлером у співпраці з Британською асоціацією виробників фонограм та Британською асоціацією звукозаписуючих дилерів у 1992 році як альтернатива Brit Awards.

Історія

На сьогоднішній день Пі Джей Гарві є єдиною виконавицею, яка отримала цю нагороду більше одного разу (у 2001 та 2011 роках). Вона також стала першою жінкою-солісткою, яка була нагороджена. Алекс Тернер отримав шість номінацій, п'ять у складі Arctic Monkeys і одну з гуртом The Last Shadow Puppets, вигравши один раз. Том Йорк має 6 номінацій, 5 з Radiohead і одну для сольного альбому The Eraser, але жодного разу не переміг.

Церемонія нагородження була перенесена вперше, і поки що єдиний раз, у 2022 році після смерті королеви Єлизавети II.
